Our client based in the Cape Town area are looking for a Ruby on Rails Developer to join their team on a permanent basis Skills and Experience Required: • Experience building Web applications with Ruby On Rails • 2 – 4 years’ experience • Full-stack development • Experience of agile practices such as scrum, pair-programming and TDD • IT Related Degree from well – known institution • Must be adaptable to change and the fast pace of a young and dynamic company • Requirements to deployment and maintenance • Comfortable working independently or with others • Linux/Mac proficiency • Can communicate effectively in writing and orally • Can comfortably work outside the boundaries of Rails (SQL, basic system administration, etc.) • Be experienced with the command line • Willing to work on front-end UIs and web pages as well as core back-end systems Responsibilities will include: • create, build and enhance features for our platform that is under active development • Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Rails code • Develop core back-end systems as well as beautiful user facing interfaces • Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems • Adding features, extending capabilities, and actually delivering working and fully tested software Technological Capabilities: • JavaScript • HTML • CSS • SQL • REST • jQuery • Ruby on Rails • Scrum Interested candidates can forward their comprehensive written applications to the following e-mail: ****@*****.*** or you can also contact Caitlin on (***)-***-****.
