Overview

Residing in South Africa, the Sales Agronomist will be responsible for growing the fertilizer sales in mainly Mozambique and Swaziland but could also be asked to assist in other countries in Africa.

Profile
• BSc (Agric) degree in Agronomy or Soil Science or Plant Science.
• SACNASP Registration is preferred. (Professional Natural Scientist)
• Working experience in similar roles and industries including experience with value added fertilizers will be a definite advantage.
• Crop nutrition knowledge is essential with good agronomic knowledge of crops grown in the region, particularly tree fruit crops such as macadamias, avocados and citrus.
• Experience presenting to small or large audiences.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Strong business orientation, organization and planning skills.
• At least 5 years similar experience gained.
• Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
• Extensive travelling will be required
• Valid passport and Valid driver's license

Sales Agronomist with strong crop nutrition knowledge to provide professional fertilization and agronomic advice to farmers, both commercial and small-holder farmers.

Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, the Sales Agronomist has responsibility for sales activities within a designated area. In partnership with the local representatives, the Sales Agronomist will help create demand for fertilizer solutions which could include granular products as well as foliar fertilizers, fertigation products and digital tools such as water sensors and precision farming. The Sales Agronomist will work in close cooperation with the sales and marketing teams to actively promote concepts and fertilizer products through farm visits, crop inspections, technical advice and plant nutrient proposals to both existing clients, as well as potential new clients.

Responsibilities
• Support Regional Manager on execution of annual sales plan, managing of stock, warehouses and debtors in the region.
• Work with local representatives to promote the company’s products.
• Execute demo trials and organize field days when needed.
• Provide information on fertilizer and foliar trends as far as crops, customers and general marketing trends goes.
• Generate insights of farmer practices.
