About the Job

Our international client with offices in South Africa is a reputable diesel engine and generator supplier. We have recently moved to a brand new state of the art premises in Edenvale, Johannesburg.
Due to the overseas promotion of our current Sales Manager within the Corporation, we have this exciting opportunity.
There is also further scope of quick development for the right person beyond this position.

Key Performance Areas

• Augment quality products with professional service delivery – become a trusted advisor
• Build relationships within and outside the business
• Protect and grow market share – must grow its current market position
• Attract and retain quality staff
• Maintain and grow margin and turnover
• Maintain and continue to build an organisation where people are happy and get the job well done, with a strong focus on customer service and orientation
• 20% strategically and 80% operationally (sales and technical) focus
• The incumbent must have worked for an engine manufacturer.
• Additional experience on how construction/pumping/generating and welding services operate and how engines are sold
• Must have technical/industrial knowledge, marketing ability, customer orientation and solid financial understanding
• Must possess excellent communication and leadership skills
• Must be able to work with an International Head Office that will set Key Performance criteria in terms of performance metrics, customer expectations and market penetration in Southern Africa

Responsibilities

• Achievement of Engine Sales Goal
• Pricing & Budgets
• Forecast and Achievement of Sales Goal
• Visit Customers and report writing
• Detailed Customer Quotations
• Cover office as and when required
• Man trade shows
• Running of the Sales Department in its entirety
• Ensure knowledge and info on all customer activity
• Stock accountability / control / allocation
• Stock justification
• Order Engines to Spec
• Quote customers and dealers

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

• Tertiary Qualification in Sales, Marketing and/ or Commercial Management
• Strong Experience on Engines and Generators
• 5 to 10 years’ experience in a similar role
• Exceptional Technical knowledge in Diesel Engines
• Mining and Industrial experience essential
• Clear Credit and Criminal Record
• Valid Passport
• Candidates should preferably be Single
