Requirements:

Minimum of a diploma or degree in operations, commercial or logistics management
Valid Code EB drivers' licence.
A minimum of 5 years in a transport management environment
Someone strong in sales and revenue
Duties:

Revenue generation to meet the monthly, quarterly and yearly targets set for the division
Establish regular loads to maximise operational performance of the fleet
Develop Sales plan and implement Sales strategy
Work in conjunction with the Manager: Cargo Terminal and the company Fleet Controller to co-create the company transport management framework
Work closely with the Warehouse Management to ensure the delivery of an integrated supply chain benefit and strategic target achievement
Drive the implementation of improvements in transport operations to achieve significant gains in efficiency
Report daily to the Manager: Cargo Terminal on the trucks, indicating trucks that are out of commission
Investigate and report on fleet utilisation providing remedial action plans in cases of under utilisation
Ensure that all vehicles are used optimally by checking that they are loaded to capacity and updated on the Vehicle Utilization Report on a daily basis
Build a sustainable customer base for the business unit
Maintain customer base and proactively identify potential customer base
Investigate hijacking incidents to establish whether or not they are genuine cases
Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations governing vehicle safety, environmental controls on fuel emissions, driver hours, customs requirements, and food and/or hazardous goods transportation
Investigate and report all Injuries on Duty (IOD’s)
Ensure all staff members comply with health and safety requirements
