Our client is one of the leading suppliers to the construction industry and is looking for a sales person to sell their range of market leading products into the DIY market. Our client has an established range of DIY products in their portfolio in the following sectors. Flooring, Adhesives, Sealants and Fillers as well as Water-Proofing and Damp-Proofing products.
Based in the Distribution Sales division in Johannesburg and reporting to the Area Manager, the successful incumbent will be responsible for achieving maximum sales profitability, growth and account penetration within all retail stores and DIY stores by effectively selling the company’s products.
The successful candidate will personally contact and secure new and current customers and will have to sell 'The company's" products or services requiring a high degree of technically specialized knowledge.
You will be responsible for meeting a specific sales budget or target, and also be required to use specialized knowledge of the relevant product to give customers the information they require.
You must be able to launch products by introducing new merchandize to potential customers and demonstrating display techniques as well as calling on Key Accounts stores and Bakkie Builders. Ideally you will also have experience in in-store training and weekend promotions to increase visibility and turn over.
Applicants should be in possession of the following:
• Matric and equivalent qualification ( Diploma, Degree, ) in Sales
• An equivalent of 3-5 years working experience in a technical sales position
• Sales experience with technical and product application knowledge
• Computer Skills;
• Planning and organisational skills;
• Sound interpersonal and communication skills;
• Ability to work independently and show initiative;
• Driven and reliable
• Bilingual in Afrikaans and English
The company is offering a basic of between R18k - R22k per month including Benefits : Medical aid (50/50) , Provident Fund , Company Car, Fuel Card, Company Credit Card, Tablet or I phone.
