Job Title: Sales Consultant
Product line: Cement
Location: North West

Main purpose of position:
Within the framework of the Department’s objectives and yearly action plans, his/her missions are:
• To sell the full range of company products to identified target markets within the corporate strategy in order to optimize turnover and profitability.

Performance Criteria:

• Maintain existing customer base.
• Gather information on market segment, competitor activities, market pricing levels, competitor pricing and strategies.
• Ensure an informed customer base.
• Keep abreast of product knowledge and maintain professionalism.
• Ensure actual sale is done.
• Meet the agreed targets

Main duties & Responsibilities:

• Make regular customer calls, dealing with queries timeously and effectively.
• Develop customers in accordance with Company strategy to ensure customer loyalty and to maintain market share.
• Grow customer base by identifying new customers as well as new areas to penetrate.
• Capture new customers in terms of the sales policy in order to meet and to exceed set sales targets.
• Feed information back to Management as input into the forecasting and budgeting processes.
• Liaise with customers to provide feedback on Company policies and procedures.
• Grow customer base by projecting a positive image of the Company and communicating the Company strategy.
• Engage in active sales discussions and negotiate closures of sales deals.
• Attend to admin duties such as pricing, account queries, logistics service issues, generating reports, setting up of call plans and call reports,
as well as managing expense budgets.
• Service customers in terms of technical requirements to ensure quality assurance standards are maintained.
• Get involved in lab testing and mix designs to ensure customer receives the correct product.
• Ensure customer satisfaction by providing on-site technical assistance and ensuring that technical standards are adhered to.

Qualifications & Experience:
• Grade 12 (Matric)
• A Tertiary qualification in Concrete Technology or Civil Engineering and or Marketing qualification.
• Exposure to the mining environment will be an added advantage.
Minimum 2 years experience in sales.

Technical & Personal skills requirements:

Technical Skills:
• General knowledge of cement products
• Preferably good knowledge of concrete products
• PC literate especially Ms Excel and Ms Word
• Exposure to B2B Sales
