One of the leading furniture and décor retailers in South Africa is looking for experienced Sales Consultants in Umhlanga, KwaZulu-Natal. The position would be responsible for selling furniture and home décor products, ensuring that all sales opportunities are maximized whilst providing excellent customer service in a professional, friendly, accurate and polite manner. Working closely with the Point of Sale Cashier, great emphasis and attention to detail will enhance the customer’s experience and ensure service delivery excellence – pre sale, during sale and post-sale. This will also involve assisting customers by being able to provide valuable advice on fabrics, finishes, and accessories. Main accountabilities: Consistently achieve monthly sales targets.Ensure high customers satisfaction in terms of the level of service they receive.Providing a single point of contact for customers for questions, answers, and project schedule updates.Ensuring efficient product tracking for timely shipment and delivery.Overseeing installation supervision and follow-up on high value orders if required.Maintain superior product knowledge.Financial control / administrative responsibilities include: daily management of debtors, ensuring that all payments are processed timeously; outstanding ordering; previous orders transactions; customer service recon; checking delivery schedules.Participation in daily / weekly stock takes and handling general stock enquiries is also part of the role.Responsible for general housekeeping / maintenance in the store, as well as ensuring that items are priced and displayed correctly.Maximise sales opportunities in-store and within allocated sales territories by utilising a variety of innovative methods.Maintain a professional approach at all times, including appearance and when dealing with customers.Work as a member of the store team assisting colleagues when ever you have opportunity to do so. Qualifications / Technical skills required:Must have matric, a degree or diploma would be an added advantage.Minimum 3 years’ experience in retail sales, preferably in a high end retail brand. Must have great communication skills, fluent in English is a must, any other languages would be an added advantage.Must be well-groomed.Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of sale policies and processes as well as an understanding of how a retail outlet or store operates. The job holder must be able to demonstrate a positive, hands-on, can-do attitude, pro-active ability.He or she must take responsibility for their work, be a team player, be accurate and have excellent customer relation and communication skills.Must have a passion for décor / interior design. Must be able to work well under pressure.Manage difficult customers efficiently.Have a valid driver’s license as well as their own transport.Good Microsoft office skills required.
