Internship description

Firstly, I would say that the primary job function is in fact a three-piece pie: sales, design and administration. Please note that is is also part-time.

My studio/workshop is attached to my store and so while I produce the products and manage the business I’m also manning the store. It’s my absolute dream job and I’m so passionate about it, therefore I need someone who is eager and takes initiative, someone who is avid to learn the ropes on all fronts from the initial design concepts, to running an ad campaign, to running a retail store and customer interaction, to costing and pricing products, to researching and sourcing materials… It’s an endless horizon of operations. If you have design flair (be it a lot or a little), if you want to start your own business, if you want to design and create products, or learn how to run in retail, a mentor and internship is always an unparalleled advantage. I’m looking for a candidate who is hungry to learn, autonomous, can bring valued skill sets to the table and adds some gees to the company!

The position is one that will initially be part-time, Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays, and occasional additional irregular hours at markets. Starting beginning of September through till the end of the year. December is the busiest time in retail and as such you should be available till the 22nd of December. (Initial length of 4 months with potential to be longer.)
