Sales Engineer (Satellite Communications) – WEST AFRICA

Salary: R700k – R950k per annum (Payable in ZAR or Euros) – Salary Negotiable

Job description:
Our client, one of the world’s leading satellite providers is currently seeking to employ a competent Pre-Sales Engineer with solid satellite working knowledge and experience for their offices in South Africa. The successful incumbent will support their corporate sales strategy by developing innovative, creative and strategic solutions focused on the organisations business drivers.

Job/Skills requirements:
• Matric and Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or Telecommunications
• At least 4 - 7 years previous Sales engineeing experience in satellite communications or in a similar role in the telecommunications industry
• Must be able to speak French fluently – NON NEGOTIABLE
• Must have excellent Sales and negotiating skills
• Strong working knowledge and understanding of GSM networks
• Knowledge and understanding of GSM backhaul and rural backhaul
• Microwave Satellite Fibre and radio frequency experience
• Strong working knowledge and understanding of link budget and network analysis definite advantageous
• Good understanding of satellite operations, satellite design & manufacturing, communications operations and the sales process.
• Good understanding of satellite infrastructure and operations
• Knowledge of digital satellite network architectures; broadcast video distribution technologies, mobility services, VSAT platforms.
• Strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills with ability to pro-actively engage with regional Sales support, Sales, Product and other departments
• Demonstrable negotiation skills focused on collaborative win-win solutions.
• Ability to make optimal decisions
• Working with diverse internal and external customers under real time conditions.
• Willingness to work at least 60 hours per week
• Valid passport and work permit
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
