Sales Engineer
Purpose of the Job
To procure business from new and existing customers, archive sales targets and ensure sound relationships with the entire customer base
Outputs
•List the job’s most important functions and responsibilities. Include all aspects of the job – whether duties are done daily, weekly, monthly, annually or at irregular intervals
•Responsible for marketing and growing telecommunication and renewable energy business to new and existing customer base through selling of a range of products and packaged solutions
•Perform market analysis to identify gaps that can be filled by our packaged offering.
•Developing and organizing of sales-related processes and activities, which include networking, meetings and special sales events
•Manage the sales request process for all types of customer request i.e. quotes, inquiries, RPF’s and tenders
•Prepare any necessary customer deliverables, such as concept layouts, single line diagrams, and equipment or material specifications
•Provide specialist advice, site specific or customer specific design and validate design requirements for local conditions and recommend solutions
•Accountable to Top Management for a detail report on division’s performance
Job Requirements
•5+ Years Engineering experience, Degree or Diploma in Electronic / Electrical Engineering
•Technical PV solutions sales experience is required
•Valid driver’s licence
•Computer and Technical / Mechanical ability
•Knowledge – Minimum computer literacy and technical knowledge needed to perform the job successfully
•MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project
•Sales individual with strong presentation skills, solution oriented with deep understanding of project and customer requirements is essential
•Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
•A team player and willing to travel
•Mathematical skills- ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations
•Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables
•Ability to read, analyse and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents
• Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribes style and format. Ability to effectively present information to Top Management, Public Groups and / or Boards of Directors
