Spintelligent (Pty) Ltd – the South African arm of Clarion Events is seeking a highly motivated Sponsorship and Exhibition Sales Executive with a passion for selling to and managing key client accounts, for both new launches and established events.

By working closely with marketing and production to coordinate a strategy to maximize event success, your objective would be to exceed sales revenue targets for each event and introduce new revenue from as wide a pool of potential sponsors and exhibitors as possible. In addition, you will look to maintain and develop excellent customer relations and have a thorough understanding of the markets you are selling into.

Key requirements:

· Excellent track record of sales performance, particularly face to face, including objection handling, negotiation, relationship building, problem solving
· Experience within media sales; conferences or exhibitions preferred
· Proven experience in closing high value sponsorship deals
· Confidence in conversing with VP and C-level prospects at peer-to-peer level
· Demonstration of excellent market and product knowledge
· Enthusiasm, commitment to the role, and pro-activity
· Outstanding communication skills – especially listening and conversation skills
· The ability to understand business issues and spot opportunities
· Effective organization and time management
· The ability to work both independently and as a team player
· A hunger to reach and exceed targets
· A tenacious “can do” approach
· Assertiveness and confidence

Responsibilities:

· Selling to existing and potential exhibitors to meet and exceed sales revenue targets.
· Selling sponsorship and exhibition for conferences and expos over the phone and face to face.
· Build relationships and contacts with new accounts to create new revenue opportunities from untapped markets.
· Researching and conducting sales campaigns to attract sponsorship.
· Researching potential sponsors and securing financial sponsorship from commercial organizations.
· Maintaining telephone contact with key sponsorship contacts to establish their promotional strategies.
· Following up marketing-led campaigns via telephone and email.
· Working closely with functional teams to maximize sales opportunities and promotion.
· Floorplan management and allocation of stand space in conjunction with the Head of Sales & Marketing
· Keeping abreast of market developments and identifying and researching new growth areas for sales.
· Ensuring that all sales administration is completed to a high standard including letter writing, keeping database up-to-date etc
· Liaising with marketing and operations teams ensuring they are kept up-to-date with exhibitor details.
· Attend competitive events and industry trade shows for business development.
· Working onsite during the build-up, open period and breakdown of all the shows actively helping clients with their onsite requirements.
· Face to face networking and business development
· Build relationships with conference sponsors and delegates.
· Execute successful rebooking campaigns.
· Be able to develop and deliver accurate sales updates via weekly sales meetings and within project meetings.
· Liaising with the finance department to assist credit control.
