AA20255 - A Large Hospitality/Resort Group, with the Head Office Based in Pretoria seeks a Sales Manager. Client Base: Gauteng.The candidate must have the following qualifications: Demonstrated experience in Marketing, in the Hospitality and Self-catering Industry environment (at least four years).Tertiary qualification in a Marketing or related field or equivalent.Duties will include the following:Core Purpose of Position: To build and sustain The Company as a leading brand in the self-catering and leisure accommodation market resulting in increased occupancyrates and revenue at all Resorts in line with the already devised Marketing Plan.To increase revenue for the company by managing the Sales Team who will acquire and maintain CLIENTS on behalf of The Company.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS ROLE:1. Manage and lead sales team2. Formulate sales reports3. Help develop and implement sales strategy4. Manage key accountsAbility to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and other interest groups.Must understand the principles of marketing and cost-effective sales, including market sector targeting, product offer development, features-benefits-solutions selling, cost per response, cost per conversion.Must be an excellent face-to-face and telephone communicator.Ability to respond to unexpected demandsService OrientedAppreciates a variety of culturesEnergetic and self-motivatedEnjoy working with and interacting with people and the general publicMust be able to converse fluently (read, write and speak) in EnglishWillingness to travel.MAIN ACTIVITIES OF THIS POSITION:Sales meetings:Conduct monthly sales meetings with Sales TeamReview objectives and actions against standardsRecognise achievementsAct on non -delivery when necessarySet monthly objectivesMaintain account standards for the sales excellence programArrange promotional programs, activities and eventsConduct sales performance reviewsSet and agree targets and objectives for the next cycleCoordinate price changes and the actions requiredCoordinate new launches and re-launch activityMonitor the use of the point of sale systemPresent information available from other departments and properties to the sales team to improve understanding, performance and the achievement of objectivesCustomer sales reviews:Complete a bi-monthly review with top stores/performers to discuss previous sales history by categoryIdentify opportunities going forward, coming out from the reviewRecord and brief your team on the agreed actionsSet timelinesCompile reports and documents:Complete four score cards per week with actions and objectives. Discuss one-onone with people responsibleForward all reports to the Marketing ExecutiveIdentify issues monthly (include distribution centre split so sales reps are accountable)Manually adjust actions for promotional activity and track actions daily.Discuss actions with sales team daily and summarise weeklyBook promotions and ensure everyone gets a copy of the monthly volume driver document and written expectations i.e. stand quantitiesObserve trade actions and record on a standard template for monthly meetingLaunch specific drives i.e. launches, projects, stand placementsEnsure you brief supervisors on key points at monthly meetingsSales strategy:Participate in formulating regional sales and season strategiesCustomer Service:Achieve company customer service objectives.Identify and implement improvement areas for added value opportunities to the Group PortfolioCapture key dates and actions for opportunity plansSell the opportunity. Seek approval from the Resort management and direct your teamCo ordinate events and activities. Brief your team about expectations, execution and support they can expect, i.e. launches, season activity, specific drives, promotional programs, special projectsTake immediate action on non-compliance to time sensitive activities that will cost the companyRegularly review customer service levels with key customersBuild a solid professional relationship with key clientsUnderstand day-to-day demand and supply issues and keep the sales team informedBe aware of any issues that may compromise business in your areaBuild a relationship and interact with the demand and supply teamIdentify problem areas and implement actions to improveProfessional dress and conduct at all timesBecome familiar with relevant company policies.The candidate must have the following skills: Valid (un-endorsed) Drivers LicenceAbility to read, analyze, and interpret common Hospitality and Self-catering journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
