Reporting To Branch Manager Cape Town

Purpose of the job: To manage and set Cape Town GCN sales team budget.
To manage sales team professionalism, call plans and reports.
To network on a high level with key role players in the inland territory.
To give leadership to the Cape Town Region designated sales departments and, by working with the sales team, to implement the Territory Management Programme and tactical plans of action in order to achieve the Sales targets and the National Strategic marketing objectives.
To market and sell the company’s products and services to all categories of customer groups in the Cape Town Region who buy Construction Products and systems and to ensure CLIENT are the preferred brand in its chosen market segments. To market and sell the company’s products and services to all the Specialists and Decision makers in the region.
Visit all regions in the Western Cape area – must be willing to travel extensively and participate in afterhours activities and represent CLIENT with industry organisations.

Job Requirements: Matric, a formal qualification in Marketing / Sales / Management will be advantageous.
Computer Literate (MS Office). Including PowerPoint presentations.
Previous selling experience in a manufacturing and construction environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Good interpersonal skills.
Strong customer service orientation.
Sound administrative and organisational skills.
Previous negotiation skills required.
Initiative, enthusiasm and excellent leadership skills
Valid drivers licence.

Main Activities: To direct and lead the Regional sales team to achieve regional and territory targets and growth.
Produce the annual sales department budget.
Implement the sales strategies for the region as agreed with the Branch Manager.
Proactively seek new business opportunities and identify new needs and wants in the marketplace.
Implement and control CLIENT pricing strategy.
Advise the Branch Manager on pricing matters; maintain margins according to agreed parameters.
Monitor and control total sales department expenses.
To ensure that the maximum effective allocation of sales departmental resources is achieved, cost effectively.
To continually assess and mentor the sales team and to develop they’re potential to the fullest extent.
To initiate new ways and means of developing sales opportunities and by working through colleagues and the head office team, to increase our business at a profit.
Regularly evaluate the performance of members of the sales team and to advice the Branch Manager on training requirements.
The compilation and submission of monthly/quarterly sales reports and volume forecasts and advice the Branch Manager of changing market conditions.
The regular reporting of marketing information encompassing inter-alia, customers, competitors, economic and credit information.
Promote the company, its image and reputation through leadership and by example.
The timeous submission of all sales reports to the Branch Manager.
The protection and maintenance of the territory’s customer base.
Monitor and report on all competitive activities inclusive of concrete roof tile products and other roofing materials, the accurate maintaining of market share movement.
Maintain open communication channels between colleagues, sales department staff, Technical staff, GM Sales and head office.
Direct selling to identified key accounts to ensure growth and targets are met.
The identification of new needs and wants in the market place and effective customer service to the identified accounts.
Handle all customer product quality complaints and back-up services.
The implementation of company policy with regard to, inter-alia: credit and payment terms, safety and disciplinary procedures, other company controls.
Assist the accounting and administration departments in order for them to maintain a comprehensive database of the target audiences and ensure that good communications are maintained with all categories at all times.
In collaboration with the accounting department, control all cash sales within company policy and ensure banking is done in accordance with set parameters.
Monitor and report on all overdue accounts and advise of necessary steps to rectify the identified accounts.
Provide Sales Planning with a view to holding the appropriate level of stock at branch level.
Stock takes on a regular basis to ensure effective stock control and stock holding. Stock forecasting to ensure continuity of supply.
Participate in regular local management meetings to foster good management, team building and performance excellence.
Contribute positively to a total integrated CLIENT culture with total customer orientation as a key performance area.
