BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF JOB PURPOSE:
The sales manager (oleo chemicals) is coordinating the daily oleo chemicals business in South Africa. The Sales Manager is in contact with all the customers, brokers, agents for customer & market developments & the daily management of sales of our product portfolio. Reporting volume & financial results, mark-ups, product portfolio and market changes to management on a regular basis to management to formulate the most profitable sales strategy for the company. The weekly call offs, planning & other logistics are monitored to optimise the product supply of company’s Southern African oleo chemicals business, building structures for Southern African activities, Informing management about the cover of products of Southern African customers/Markets


QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCIES:
Qualifications:
Grade 12 and relevant post-matric qualification.

Experience:
? 5 years sales experience, with 3 years at senior level commercial role
? Extensive knowledge and experience of SA edible oil market advantageous

Functional Knowledge:
? Computer applications, specifically MS office applications
? SAP advantageous
? Knowledge of Budgeting, principles etc.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS ROLE:

? Identify new business opportunities
? Support & execute Sales Plan
? Sales of the palm and lauric products
? Submit quotations
? Assist in account receivables / credit control
? Cooperate on improvements

1. Identify new business opportunities (New business development)
? Identify opportunities going forward, coming out from customer reviews
? Launch specific drives i.e. launches, projects,
? Sell and get buy-in for opportunities

2. Administration and Reporting
? Record and brief management on the agreed actions
? Forward reports to the relevant parties
? Manually adjust actions for promotional activity and track actions daily.
? Observe trade actions and record on a standard template for monthly meeting
? Brief sub-ordinates on key points at monthly meetings

3. Develop and Implement sales strategy

? Optimise the company’s footprint through an effective sale- and distribution plan.
? Be informed of key market trends & –information & give regular feedback to management team.
? Achieve customer satisfaction objectives.
? Identify and implement improvement areas for added value opportunities
? Take immediate action on non-compliance to time sensitive activities that can harm the company image
? Regularly review customer service levels with key customers
? Build a solid professional relationship with key clients and stakeholders
? Understand day-to-day demand and supply issues and keep the management informed
? Build a relationship and interact effectively with the supply chain department
? Employ proper merchandising strategies & standards to promote the company/product image
