DEG OR DIPL IN SALES/ MARKETING / COMMERCE + EXP IN MANAGING TEAM OF SALES REPS + EXP IN SALES MANAGEMENT WITHIN RETAIL / HARDWARE / CONSTRUCTION ENIRONMENT OF NO LESS THAN 5 YEARS + EXP SETTING OF KPI’S, OBJECTIVES & BUDGETS.

A major supplier of specialised construction products to the building, civil engineering and building maintenance industries, supplying products directly to customers through its branch network as well as through builders’ merchants and hardware stores seeks a dynamic Sales Manager Retail - Greater Gauteng.

Minimum Requirements

2 - 5 years sales management experience
Ability to manage a team of no less than 5 people
Ability to select, train, mentor and develop staff
Strong understanding of forecasting
Must have strong critical reasoning ability
Must have strong negotiation skill, extremely convincing and be persistant
IMM advantageous or Tertiary Education preferable

Job Specification

Plan and carry out direct sales activities to set budgets, sales volumes, prices, values, product mix and timescales

Meet sales/gross profit targets in line with budget

Maintain and develop existing and new customers/territories through planned individual account support and liaison with internal order-processing staff

Liaise and attend meetings including trials with other company functions necessary to perform duties, aid business and organizational development

Function as a techno representative of the company

Attend and conduct training to develop relevant knowledge and skills
