Educational Qualifications :

• Post graduate Degree / Diploma in management or equivalent work experience (5-8 years sales and sales management experience)

General Summary :

• General management of all aspects of sales and customer related functions,
• General management of all sales related admin (call plans, customer plans)
• Ensuring that all aspects of technical support offered by the company are carried out to the clients satisfaction,
• Ensuring that all sales are conducted within the company’s general practices and policies
• General reporting and liaising with General Manager
• Personnel management with respect to the Regional Sales Team, mentoring, coaching, training and discipline
• Ensuring that communication between with Sales Team is effective WRT product updates, new products, promotions
• Devising product promotions along with Product Management and Marketing Department to achieve specific strategic results
• Setting and working with reps to achieve GP targets for each rep in team
• Continuously driving new customer acquisition
• Continuously driving expanded customer spend through upselling
• Compiling competitor activity feedback for Product Management Team
• Proactively assisting with forecasts
• Recruit, train and mentor suitable reps to build sales team
• Quarterly reviews with reps on performance in area and implement required corrective actions
• Hold regular and meaningful sales meetings
• Building of team spirit within sales team
• Resolving conflicts where they arise.

Skills and Knowledge :

• Knowledge of managing and motivating staff at all levels,
• Knowledge & experience of managing a sales team,
• Knowledge of South African electronic security industry,
• Preferable knowledge of (SAP),
• PC literate with proven proficiency in MS Office,
• A peoples person with good attention to detail and reporting skills,
• Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to deal with people at all levels,
• Influencing and decision making skills are essential,
• Ability to work independently and solve problems with own initiative,
• Must be results orientated and have the ability to bring closure and produce outcomes,
• Should demonstrate ability to run with a variety of tasks simultaneously (multi-tasking) and the ability to work well under pressure,
• High levels of confidentiality, and
• Skilled in conflict resolution.

Other :

• Willing to work extended working hours when required
• Willing to travel extensively within the Inland Region

Key Deliverables :

• Ensuring the region meets Sales & GP Targets,
• Fully resourced regional sales team with minimal staff turnover,
• Analyze & review the monthly and quarterly sales figures, identify trends and take appropriate action
• Assisting head-office product managers and operations team with monthly sales forecasts,
• Manage sales team budgets,
• Responsible for overall performance of the sales team ,
• Provide management with statistical information regarding sales, clients & market trends,
• Maintain a highly motivated sales team,
• Responsible for overall customer satisfaction in the region and key account management,
• Responsible for manageable and equitable rep account allocation.

Reporting and Systems Management :
• Provide relevant monthly reports (sales, stock holding).

Communication :
• Responsible for ensuring that communication is clear across the board, and
• Perform ad hoc duties as required.
