Minimum Requirements

Degree in Marketing
Postgraduate qualification advantageous

EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum 10 Years work experience preferably with at least 5 years in a Sales Management position.
• Preferably with experience in steel or related industry. Should have working knowledge of plate, structural, tube, specialty steel and Automotive products and the segments these products are utilised in.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES):
• Overall responsibility for all sales related activities within defined segments.
• Direct management responsibility for the Sales team servicing the defined segments.
• Develop methods to gain and report market intelligence related to defined segments
• Setting and reviewing of sales budgets and forecasts for defined segments.
• Develop a sound strategy to grow our share of the defined market segments
• Define KPI's for Sales team to translate strategy into action plans
• Quarterly review of performance management system and KPI's for team members.
• Create development plans for team members and initiate training of individuals as required.
• Maintain and manage the discipline of the sales team.
• Full accountability for sales expenses.
• Timely notification to Management of any issues that may impact operations i.e. market conditions that may adversely affect operations ie. labour issues and competitor activity.
• Setting and maintaining ad hoc pricing tactics in conjunction with sales teams along with the required controls to ensure that the prices are implemented and utilized effectively.
• Maintain and strengthen internal interaction with the various divisions

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
• Must have the ability to negotiate at all levels within the customer's organisation and other stakeholders.
• Must be able to close deals on a daily basis.
• Must be a self-starter and be able to effectively manage a Sales team.
• Must be computer literate - Power Point, Word and Excel - must be able to manipulate and analyse data in excel.
