A leading FMCG company is looking for a Regional Sales Manager to join the team.

The position will be responsible for the following: 

Staff Management

Ensures that the Regional sales function achieves and maintains the required levels of production, effectiveness and contribution to bottom line; and that staff members individually meet performance expectations by:
Implementing the performance management system with incentives and rewards to recognise achievement
Conducting regular performance discussions
Providing coaching, mentoring or disciplinary action as appropriate, to maintain/improve performance levels
Undertaking team building exercises
Budgets
Formulates sales and budgets, breaking down expected volumes and values by category, branch and individual Sales person, manages sales against budget
Direct the team's focus, set goals, look at data, motivate and help create training opportunities
Analyze budgets, and determine ways to streamline and improve the sales process
Achieve growth and sales targets by successfully managing the sales team
Designing and implementing a strategic sales plan that expands company's customer base and ensures its strong presence
Training

Increases market share and maximises sales volumes and values to meet or exceed budget by:

Applying the performance management system to highlight skills gaps and future development needs
Arranging skills and or product training required
Following up to ensure that skills trained are also applied on the job as this has an impact on performance
Regional Trade Agreements
Negotiating prices, terms of trade, discounts, rebates, returns etc 
Ensuring that credit control is correctly applied and that customer relationship is maintained in the process
 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Successful previous experience as a sales manager, consistently meeting or exceeding targets
Minimum of 5 years customer experience with at least five years selling experience
Degree or Diploma in business administration or a related field
Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close
