3. Purpose of the Job
3.1. To effectively market & sell products in a professional capacity by establishing & maintaining relationships with new & existing clientele.
3.2. To effectively build our brand by adhering to the company’s quality policy and protocols.
4. Job Description
4.1. Marketing Duties
• Visit Architects, Engineers, Contractors & Plumbers in Gauteng, Mpumalanga & Free State to discuss projects and products for specification purposes
• Liaise with Virtual Assistant to meet with other marketing representatives.
• Visit Retailers & Merchants to do training with staff and management, identify & build relationships with key product champions and management, motivate sales teams, set up incentive programs and smooth out any issues they might have.
• Identify potential new customers and follow above steps.
• Ensure that customers are happy and informed on lead times in different areas.
• Attend to product display’s and stands in stores (merchandising)
• Promote products in a professional manner at all times.
• Review Customer Perception in the market place and improve where necessary
• Occasional Regional visits to retailers & professionals i.e. to Mpumalanga and the Free State
• Design product presentations to be used in various fields as required.
• Know the opposition and understand their modus operandi.

4.2. Sales Duties
• Reach realistic sales targets as set by management
• Cold calling on plumbing & hardware merchants when in a new area & provide them with the introduction, a credit/cash account application form and all printed brochures & marketing materials
• Follow up with training sessions for staff & place on call cycle.
• Encourage sales of Product Stands & Display Boards to retail stores & chains
• Encourage sales by providing leads to sales reps at various retailers.
• Encourage sales by building lasting relationships with all existing & new customers
• Tracking projects listed on customer relationship management software.
4.3. Administration Duties
• Provide the Virtual Assistant with details of leads generated in the field in order to create an opportunity for an appointment.
• List activities in the field on the customer relationship management software on a daily basis. (reporting)
• Respond to enquiries & leads generated by other members of the team as required.
• Record & follow up on all quotations issued to your customers.
• Fill-in and complete all forms and records required by the QM System.
• Compile and maintain a Call Cycle Report and send regular updates to the General Manager.(reporting)
4.4. General Duties
• Always be at work on time
• Always Adhere to the Company Safety Practices & Quality Policy
• Be a team player – do other lawful work instructions that are required by the company
• Assist fellow employees to complete their duties where reasonably & fairly requested to do so.

5. Job Qualifications and Key Person Attributes required for the position
5.1. Education Level
• Matric Qualification
• Experience in sales and marketing is essential
• Diploma/Degree in marketing and sales an advantage
• Experience in Plumbing and/or Construction Industry an advantage
5.2. Regulatory Licences
• Code 08 South African Drivers Licence
5.3. Physical Attributes
• Overall Good Health
• Must be well spoken and have a good telephone manner with fantastic people skills
• Be well groomed and presentable
5.4. Functional Skills
• Fluent in English and Afrikaans, other official SA language will be an advantage
• Must be computer literate, proficient with Microsoft Programs such as, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.
• Must have experience with internet for research & marketing purposes
• Excellent communication skills are required
• Good typing & administration skills are required
• Marketing and Sales experience essential
• Good organization & time management skills required.
