Purpose of the JOB:

To target the contractors, distributors, specifiers and architects within their designated geographical boundaries in order to maximise sales, optimise GP’s, grow and maintain and grow the customer base and increase market share

Qualifications:

Grade 12

QS Degree Non Negotiable

Knowledge and Skills:

1 NQF level 5: Literacy and Numeracy skills

2 Computer skills: Intermediate Excel and Word

Sales Consultant Job Duties:

Identifies and sources leads in this market within geographical boundaries via newspapers; drive around/site visits; specifying dynamics/databuild in store; tender advertisements; contractor relationships; builders list; competitor boards; classified advertisements; builder/artisan evenings; estate agents; municipal lists *
Understand policies and procedures pertaining to pricing structures; accounts; sample boards; invoicing; statements; advertising; external representative code of conduct; promoting the Construction chemicals brand in the contract market and implementing all of these effectively *
Manage leads utilising call cycle strategies and question sheets; handle objections effectively in areas such as price; availability; ranges; accounts; delivery; competitor services etc. *
Handle customer complaints to customer and company satisfaction
Sell across the range; - Focus on high margin material; - Add on sales items such as cleaners, sealers and tools; *
Maintain customer pricing with current company pricing structures and increases
Maintain expenses within set guidelines and budget *
Maintain company property and equipment at all times
Ensure all general filing is accurate and up to date; *
Follow up on quotes and samples issued; *
Follow up on customer stock requirements; *
Ensure monthly feedback to the manager, e.g. call reports, performance summaries, lead reports, stock requirements etc.
Identify and exceed customer service expectations; *
Identify and meet customer product requirements;
Promote positive team work amongst TAL team; *
Promote positive team work with all construction products divisions
