Sales Representative Paint Industry Cape Town

Our Client a paint manufacturer and distributor is looking for a Sales Representative to cover the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town

SALES
• Contribute towards the profitability of the company in generating daily sales
• Promotes/sells/secures orders from existing and prospective customers through a relationship-based approach.
• Establishes, develops and maintains business relationships with new and prospective customers in the assigned territory to generate new business.
• Sell & demonstrate products and application thereof to existing & potential customers and assist them in selecting those best suited to their marketing mix.
• Constantly strive to increase range/s in hardware stores/paint retailers. This includes the ability to train in-store staff based in retail stores on a regular basis.

ADMIN
• Ability to plan effectively and analyse call schedules. (Category A, B and C customers each have a minimum call rate required per cycle)
• Submission of monthly data/reports on time as determined by the Regional Sales Manager.
• Submission of ad-hoc information/feedback as and when requested.
• Supply management with oral and written reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products.
• Liaise with credit department regarding credits and potential risk with customers.

MARKETING
• Keep abreast of product applications, technical services, market conditions, advertising and promotional trends.
• Participate in occasional trade shows, carnivals, new store openings and re-launches.
• Research sources for developing prospective customers.

MANAGEMENT
• Manage, motivate and coach (in store sales personnel) ,(where applicable) employed in sales area of responsibility to achieve maximum sell through at retail store level. Constantly keep staff updated on their sales progress.
• Active and maximum participation in the growth incentive scheme on a monthly basis.
• Prepare and provide document supporting participation in performance appraisal.
