Sales Representative – Technical – JHB
Salary: Market Related, High Commission structure
Permanent position, Alberton

The purpose of this job is to manage achievement of personal sales targets, customer service delivery, adherence to company sales and service standards and monitor of sales from first customer engagement to delivery of sale according to customer requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Relevant technical or tertiary business qualification.
• Technical/Engineering/Fuel/Petroleum experience advantageous
• Integrated understanding of the industry and relevant technical expertise;
• Business and financial acumen; Presentation Skills; People and Stakeholder relationship management; Communication effectiveness and negotiation skills;
• Basic computer literacy to support sales process.
• Portray a professional company image; Customer service orientation; Decision making ability; Results orientation; Persuasion and influencing; Planning and organising; Resilience.
• One to three years relevant experience in a technical industry relevant environment.
• May be required to work outside traditional office hours and offsite meetings.

Functions:

• Maintain full accountability for achievement of individual sales results.
• Identification and development of sales opportunities to support growth of a customer base.
• Management of cost of sales ensure accuracy and completeness of quotes and tenders in line with costing standards and validated quotes for special requirements.
• Operate within the set sales standards and guidelines, in terms of contract negotiations, pricing and sales conversions.
• Contribute to the optimisation of the sales function through the adherence to sales standards, plans, metrics and specific sales initiatives.
• Liaise with stakeholders to identify sales opportunities to allow for adequate sales and operations planning.
• Contribute to the achievement of sales targets according to the Sales Plan.
• Adherence to business processes and minimum sales and customer engagement standards at all times.
• Provide timely reporting, feedback, market inputs to the sales manager as input into the Sales and Operational Planning meetings (Pipeline and sales results reporting).
• Management of customer service to promote sustainable sales growth.
• Monitor sales metrics to support achievement of sales performance objectives.
• Identify, champion and support opportunities to improve sales performance.
• Accountable for developing own skills and knowledge in achievement of personal career objectives.

Supporting Activities:
• Enhancement of existing customer relationships to identify new business opportunities to generate revenue, market share and growth.
• Initiate customer engagement strategies, including updating customer databases and customer engagement opportunities in accordance with the sales strategy and plan.
• Negotiation and decision making to optimise agreements with clients and counter act competition.
• Development and maintenance of strong partnership with internal and external stakeholders to deliver according to customer expectations.
