Responsible for Oracle database administration, SAP Basis administration, Solaris Operating System administration and SAP authorisations.
Requirements and Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree / National Diploma in Information Technology (NQF6 or 7), SAP certification
• Minimum 5 years’ experience working in SAP Basis and Oracle database administration supporting a business environment (500+ user)
• Minimum 2 years of the 5 years must be at a Supervisory or Team Leader capacity managing people
• Working knowledge of SAP Solution Manager, basic SAP roles and profiles administration
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform systems health checks and implement preventative and corrective actions in line with IT operations calendar
• Install and upgrade SAP systems, monitor SAP systems interfaces between COJ and Joburg Water
• Monitor and fine-tune the performance of the SAP system
• Implement SAP support packages and Patches/Notes as per SAP recommendation or as required by business
• Identify and resolve a variety of database integration issues including migration between disparate databases, integration, maintenance/conversion, capacity planning issues
• Implement oracle patches as per Oracle as required by business
• Perform Oracle databases health checks and implement corrective actions
• Plan for, install and upgrade Oracle databases
• Install, configure, maintain and perform system integration testing of SUN Solaris operation systems and related utilities
• Troubleshoot Solaris based software problems
• Implement Solaris rating system patches
• Monitor systems security activities and fine system parameters and configuration to optimise performance and ensure security of systems
