Mandatory Requirements
• Appropriate and recognised formal Business or Information Systems degree, certificate or accreditation.
• Experience of at least 18 months within a business analyst role in a SAP implementation or support environment.
• Proven experience is delivering Business requirement documentation of at least 1 SAP solution implementation.

Brief overview of job functions
Successful candidate will be required to do the following:
• Business requirements gathering and documentation through scoping workshops, interviews and other methods.
• Business process re-engineering where applicable, documentation of the AS IS and TO BE business processes and providing an associated business impact analysis in order to compile and deliver a comprehensive Solution Blueprint / Design document in accordance with the SAP-ESC’s standards.
• Knowledge transfer to other City of Cape Town employees on the project.
• Provide business process support throughout the projects lifespan, which includes the testing of processes, development and delivery of training and training material, as well as end-user support in general.

Key accountabilities
The successful candidate will play a key role in the successful design of the business and system processes to be deployed in the ERP environment. The roles and responsibilities of the Business Analyst are listed as follows:
Analysis and Solution Definition:
• Documents the relevant business processes and requirements.
• Assists in the collection and consolidation of required information and data.

Project Execution:
• Understands project plans and is able to clearly articulate roles, project goals, and timelines.
• Takes input from Project Manager and/or relevant Stream Lead and appropriately and accurately applies comments/feedback.
• Adheres to project & document standards defined by ESC-PMO.
• Accurately employs the SAP-ECS’ methodology and documentation tools.
• Proactively carries out project support and or administrative functions.
• Establishes responsible deadlines and personal work plans and manages time effectively.

Knowledge and Skills
General Skills:
• Good documentation and communication (both written and verbal) skills.
• Clearly articulate ideas and thoughts verbally.
• Accurately prepares written business correspondence that is coherent, grammatically correct, effective and professional.
• Must be a team player and able to work with and through others.
• Displays a positive ‘can-do’ attitude.
• Demonstrates flexibility in day-to-day work.
• Sets high standards of performance for oneself.

Technical Skills Required:
• Understands basic Internet and client/server architectures.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
• Proposes solutions to problems and considers timeliness, effectiveness, and practicality in addressing client needs.
• Generates innovative solutions by approaching problems with curiosity and open mindedness, using existing information to its fullest potential.

Qualifications and Experience
• A working knowledge of the SAP ASAP implementation methodology.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills combined with a determination to help meet client needs a definite requirement.
• Previous experience in Local Government.
