PBT Group, leaders in Business Intelligence, has a requirement for a SAS Data Analyst to join our Analytics Department in Cape Town.

DUTIES:

• Designing and implementing technical and operational architectures
• Data modelling and data architecture design / implementation

Data Analysis:

• Handle imperfections in data (unmatched format, data source investigation & understanding)
• Visualizing and communicating data (both technical and non-technical audiences) - conceptual story board
• Explore and examine data from multiple disparate sources
• Identify anomalies in data and decide whether it needs to be raised

Documentation:

• Draft and review technical documentation relating to Advanced Analytics solution
• Present proposal and technical findings to internal and external clients on various levels in organization

Hardware:

• Help IT define roadmap for Advanced Analytics hardware requirements

 
SKILLS REQUIRED:

• ETL Software (Base SAS, SAS EG, SPSS Statistics)
• Modeling Software (SPSS Modeler, SAS Enterprise Guide)
• Database Querying (ORACLE, MS SQL)
• Understand and navigate Windows and *nix (UNIX, Linux) operating systems
• Strong ability to resolve technical problems, being data source or data architecture related.
• Ability to deal with client (management level) in explaining and defending technical solutions and challenges.
• Ability to write up/document technical solutions.
• SQL is a must, SAS is desirable to have.
