Our client is currently seeking to recruit a Scrum Manager.
 
Output/Core Tasks:
  • Lead SDLC Methodology Center
  • Collaborate with partners to transition the operating model to Agile
  • Implement/ (Ensure) processes, practices, and tools allow for multiple paths of delivery. I.e., create simplified, consistent, reusable, efficient and flexible methodologies
  • Recommend improvements and drive alignment across the Agile projects
  • Serve as a Coach and Mentor within the organization
  • Coach and mentor the organization to facilitate adoption and maturity
  • Facilitation for the delivery teams that utilise Scrum as their development methodology.
  • Resolving any impediments that might obstruct the delivery of the product.
  • Ensuring that the Agile / Scrum principles are implemented correctly in the project
  • Organize regular sessions to train the team in using backlog management tools effectively.
  • Facilitate project planning, daily stand-up meetings, reviews, retrospectives, sprint and release planning, demos and other Scrum-related meetings
  • Ensure that all the requirements from all stakeholders captured in the Product Backlog.
  • Support and educate the Product Owner, especially with respect to grooming and maintaining the product backlog.
  • Facilitate better expression of requirements as independent, negotiable, valuable, estimable, small, and testable user stories.
  • Ensure that the product backlog is easily accessible to all the people concerned.
  • Help maintain the release plans and update the product / release burndown charts to actually completed and new ones added allow early discovery of scope / schedule drift.
  • Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information.
  • Take responsibility for managing dependencies between the team and third parties and / or other scrum teams.
  • Ensure that the Sprint taskboard reflect what the team is actually doing.
  • Ensure that the product backlog is of manageable size.
  • Track and communicate team key metrics such as time taken to deliver work products (velocity) and sprint / release progress.
  • Ensure the development teams are practicing the agile principles
  • Facilitate SCRUM events (Daily stand up, Planning, Reviews, Retrospectives, Backlog estimation)
  • SCRUM Coaching
  • Generate Scrum artefacts (Velocity and Burndown charts)
  • Maintain Team Dynamics
  • Foster team self-management and self-organisation
 
Role Requirements:
 
Qualifications:
  • Grade 12
  • Tertiary qualification
Experience & Knowledge:
  • 3 – 5 years relevant experience
  • Project Management certification (added advantage)
  • Scrum Master Certification (added advantage)
  • Agile technical project management of multiple software releases
  • Work across multiple technical teams to develop solutions software training
