The Search Engine Marketing Specialist will manage organic search engine optimization (SEO) and search engine marketing (SEM) activities for the company’s websites – including content and keyword strategy, page optimizations, link building, and related activities – in order to increase rankings on major search networks.

Your job responsibilities as the Search Engine Marketing Specialist in Johannesburg will include:
- Research and implement SEO recommendations; perform ongoing keyword discovery, expansion, and optimization; and use results to optimize copy and landing pages in order to drive visitors to the company’s organic and paid search websites/landing pages
- Develop the strategy for and implement paid search marketing/advertising on search engines, social media, and display networks in order to develop quality
- Manage paid search campaign expenses, staying on budget, estimating monthly costs, and reconciling discrepancies
- Execute tests, analyze results, and identify trends and insights in order to achieve maximum ROI in paid search campaigns
- Research and analyze competitors’ SEM strategies
- Track, report, and analyze website analytics and pay-per-click (PPC) initiatives and campaigns
- Collaborate with Web team to ensure SEO best practices are properly implemented
- Collaborate with Web and Marketing teams on content creation and manage all content programming
- Develop and implement link building strategy

Requirements for this Search Engine Marketing Specialist job in Johannesburg:
- Proven SEO experience. Proven SEM experience managing PPC campaigns across Google, Yahoo, and Bing as well as display ads on various networks and social media platforms (e.g., Facebook)
- Up-to-date with latest trends and best practices in SEO and search engine marketing, including PPC
- In-depth experience with website analytics tools
- Experience in conversion marketing and analytics, specifically with online customer acquisition
- Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript; proficient with graphic design tools including Creative Suite
- Bachelor’s degree recommended
- Google AdWords certification required; Facebook Blueprint certification recommended
