Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement and monitor adherence to engineering standards and legislative requirements, taking corrective action where necessary
• Allocate resources in consultation with relevant Section Heads
• Improve the effectiveness and efficiency of engineering processes and systems
• Drive and implement action plans to achieve the mine strategy and business plans
• Set and prepare financial budget for the section
• Keep abreast of market trends and new technology
• Ensure the effective management and control of human resources for optimal utilization

Minimum Requirements:

• Recognized University Degree/National Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• At least 10 years’ experience in the mining industry
• At least 3 years’ experience in a managerial capacity
• Government Certificate of Competency for Mines and Works.
• Computer literate
• Valid drivers’ license
• Experience in Plant Processes will be an advantage

Other Skills and Competencies:

• Good written and verbal communication skills in English
• Sound knowledge of hydraulic circuits, TMM safety systems, electrical infrastructure (standards and maintenance) and crushers
• Sound knowledge and experience in Root Cause Analysis and Reliability Centred Maintenance principles
• Sound knowledge in HR and IR/ER management systems
