Position: Security Guard
Location: Randburg
Salary: R4200 p/m excluding overtime, night shift allowance, and public holidays payment.
Contract type: One year
Start date: 19th June 2019 (6am-6pm)

Job Brief

Our client, an esteemed security company is looking for a professional security guard to protect a shopping center, assets, and personnel. You will maintain a high visibility presence and prevent all illegal or inappropriate actions. The goal is to detect, deter, observe and report.

Responsibilities:
• Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry.
• Observe for signs of crime or disorder and investigate disturbances
• Act lawfully in direct defense of life or property
• Apprehend criminals and evict violators
• Immediately respond to emergencies to provide necessary assistance to employees and customers
• Protect the company’s assets relative to theft, assault, fire and other safety issues
• Take accurate notes of unusual occurrences
• Report in detail any suspicious incidents
• Monitor and control access at building entrances and vehicle gates
• Watch alarm systems or video cameras and operate detecting/emergency equipment
• Perform first aid or CPR
• Provide excellent customer service
• All other ad hoc tasks and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Inherent Requirements:
• Proven work experience of 2 years as a security guard or relevant position
• Proven history of working well in stressful situations
• A trained security officer with Grade D certification, PSIRA registered
• Ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment
• Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols
• Skills: Lifting, Surveillance Skills, Deals with Uncertainty, Judgment, Objectivity, Dependability, Emotional Control, Integrity, Safety Management, Professionalism, Reporting Skills, detail orientation. Excellent communication skills with a good command of the English language.
