Security Officer - X3

Job Purpose:
The primary purpose of the security officers is to effect security control measures and ensure that the centre is protected all the times. To identify security threats all the time and conduct security visibility patrols within the centre. Ensure all staff and visitors are protected while visiting the centre.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Ensure that staff uses access cards on entrance and exit points
2. Perform random searches on Sci-Bono employees, visitors and contractors on entrance and exit
3. Ensure visitors to the centre are recorded and referred to the correct reception point
4. Ensure that vehicles are searched on exit (basement boom gate)
5. Ensure that contractors and their equipments are recorded
6. Ensure that all assets entering and leaving the Centre are recorded
7. Ensure that the entrance and exit posts are not left unattended as this may lead to a security breach
8. Ensure that all incidents are recorded on the OB
9. Perform site patrols and relieving duties
10. Record incidents on the pocket books
11. Monitor and control parking
12. Escort visitors into the Centre (where access is limited to access card holders)

Key Requirements:

• Matric (grade 12) certificate
• Grade C certificate and registration with PSIRA
• 3 years experience in the security and access control
• Ability to work independently but also be a good team player
• Ability to develop collaborative relationships
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work a flexible work schedule ,including weekend, holidays and night shift (per schedule)
• Attention to detail
• Vigilant
• Must have excellent customer attitude
• Trustworthy
