o You will be required to travel into Africa when necessary for customer visits, training, implementations and partner visits. You must have a valid South African passport.
o Delivering training for product specialisation: thus have excellent communication and presentation skills and a solid track record working in the ICT sector in either the distribution or reseller channel.
o You will be accepted to build a trusted relationship with Vendor and Partners.
o Ensuring that you are accredited in the industry of the product you support.
o Responding to RFP/RFI/RFQs.
o Building of BOM’s and SOW’s
o Propose and implement a Proof of Concept in order to demonstrate the product / technologies relevant value within the customer’s environment.
o Design the customized solution taking into account Availability, Capacity and Functionality, resulting in a Bill of Material (BOM) that the Sales team can produce a quote from.
o Conduct both formal and informal training of the channel or end user.
o Achieve and maintain vendor’s required technical accreditation and assist in leading technical discussions at partner workshops, tradeshows, and joint selling opportunities.
o Hands-on background in TCP/IP, routing topologies and protocols including BGP and MPLS is required. Strong knowledge of other routing protocols such as OSPF, EIRGP, ISIS is preferred.
o Strong knowledge of Juniper and Cisco HW/OS with hand-on experience. Knowledge of other router platforms (Alcatal, Huawei etc.) is preferred.
o Strong understanding security background with knowledge of firewalls, IDS/IPS, virus, internet worms, DDoS and network exploits.
o Understanding of Access control and authentication infrastructure (iPlanet, .NET, Netegrity, RSA/Securant, Oblix, LDAP, CMS, PKI, RADIUS/Tacacs+,
o Network management understanding (SNMP, RMON, OpenView, Unicenter, Tivoli, Micromuse, Cisco Prime etc.)
o Knowledge of protocol analysis tools (Wireshark,Sniffer, HP, Radcom)
o Security Focus: ensuring that potential Security pitfall areas are addressed and dealt with accordingly.
? Understand and be able to present the technical value proposition of the Fortinet range of products.
? Understand the Fortinet RMA, DOA and Technical support processes.
? Answer customer Fortinet product technical queries prior to sales
? Assist with building bill of materials for the Fortinet range of products.

Education& Experience:
Min 6 years’ Product Specialist experience in a similar environment.
3 – 5 years Security experience
5 years Sales Engineering experience, with data network vendor, security vendor, service provider or network security company including both presentation and hands-on responsibilities.
Previous experience successfully responding to RFIs, RFPs, RFQs for tier 1/tier 2 service providers and data service/hosting providers
Experience in effectively communicating the value proposition of the relevant product / technologies both from a customer’s strategic position as well as from a customer’s tactical position.
Technical Competencies:
