SENIOR ACCOUNTANT Wealth: Securities

Key responsibilities:

• Analyse and review financial information and operational data in compliance with accounting standards and taxation requirements
• Control and reconciliation of Petty cash
• Preparation of monthly management accounts
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Bank reconciliations
• Implement and manage a Cash management process to ensure maximisation of cash resources
• Cash management includes:
• Bank contact, mandate & signatory list, reconciliations, and listings
• Daily cash flow
• Prepare monthly commission calculations & charge outs to advisors
• Prepare monthly Income / Referral fee reconciliations
• Maintain Company/FSB commission and charges rules master file
• Review & authorize client payment/withdrawals
• Review & authorize creditor payments
• Prepare annual budgets with Financial Manager & CFO
• Assist with reports and data required for auditing to ensure external audit requirement is met
• Prepare Daily income schedule
• Authorising Creditor payments
• Maintain FSB loan accounts/commission statements
• Maintain month end/finance procedures
• Manage the Investec Corporate Saver product
• Load new accounts
• Payments

• Calculation of monthly fees

• Preparation and distribution of weekly interest rate schedule
• Maintain daily reconciliation of ACCPAC
• Processing and reconciliation of SSF settlement
• Monthly Management fee run and upload
• Back up to Operations Supervisor
• Ensure timeous follow up and feedback on queries both externally and internally
• Ensure that external and internal interface is professional
• Ensure that allocated projects as specified by Financial Manager and CEO are completed and that project deadlines have been met
• Ensure that Project delivery does not affect or set back normal deadlines

Minimum requirements / qualifications:

• BCom Degree or National Diploma in Finance or Accounting
• Between 2 - 5 years’ experience in a similar role within financial services industry (preferably Securities environment)
• Stockbroking experience will be advantageous
• Sound experience with all aspects of Finance
• Systems knowledge: BDA essential, Accpac or relevant accounting packages ideal
• Solid MS Office skills with advanced Excel
