Brief Description
The main purpose of this position is to develop and support business intelligence (BI) solutions in the organisation both for Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system users and for line departments. The position also requires the management of a small team of developers.

Detailed Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:
? Interpret business requirements and functional specifications as provided by the business analysts into BI solution designs.
? Design the extract, transfer and load (ETL) functionalities using appropriate technology and set of tools to move data into a data warehouse or data mart.
? Apply appropriate master data management and data quality tools and techniques to ensure that consistent and quality data are provided to the data warehouse.
? Design the star schemas and/or cubes for consumption by the BI toolset.
? Design and develop reports, graphs, analytics and key performance indicators (KPIs) on the desktop and mobile platforms for analysis purposes.
? Generate actions or tasks flowing from exceptions in the analytical process.
? Provide leadership to subordinates by breaking down high-level tasks into detailed actions and tasks to be completed and managing completion of the allocated tasks.
? Provide input to the overall project planning process and ensure compliance with the set tasks and time frames.
? Manage subordinates’ performance and address possible problems where appropriate or escalate to management.
? Facilitate workshops independently and consult with business owners and stakeholders in respect of problem definition and the identification of business requirements and needs.
? Manage delivery of allocated projects according to the agreed quality standards and time frames.
? Maintain and support delivered solutions using a release-based method.
? Identify and manage risks within the allocated projects.
? Develop training manuals and training plans, and present training courses in support of new implementations.
? Stay abreast of changes to analytical tools and methodologies, and advise the Business Intelligence Competency Centre to adhere to new practices.

Requirements:
To be considered for this position, candidates must be in possession of:
? Degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or equivalent;
? Minimum of seven to eight years’ experience in a BI development environment using the Oracle (OBIEE, ODI, Essbase) and Microsoft (Analysis Services, Reporting Services, Power BI) toolsets; and
? 3 – 5 years Management experience.

The following will be an added advantage when considering candidates:
? Experience and knowledge of the Oracle ERP (EBS) environment and schemas; and
? Experience in a banking or financial environment.
