JOB SPECIFICATION – ASSET MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS SOLUTION ARCHITECT

Overview

An international software company that specializes in Asset Management systems is seeking for a Senior Solution Architect to join their team in Cape Town.

The Solution Architect will be interacting with clients to understand their problem areas and specify requirements and possible solutions for the solution implementation teams. This may be a professional service that is needed, a product to be enhanced / developed, integration with existing systems and / or improved processes to be put in place.

A Senior Business Analyst with good technical systems understanding as well as Asset Lifecycle experience will ideally suit this role, which is to find shortcomings within the client environment, then architect solutions based on a solid understanding of our products, solutions and services.

Functional Output:

Define project scope and objectives, key success factors and high-level Requirements
Create AS IS documentation of a client’s Asset Management Lifecycle
Create TO BE documentation addressing the challenges identified by the AS IS analysis
Perform a GAP analysis and document the findings in the form of an improvement plan
Give feedback on project progress to various stakeholders and manage expectations
Verify solution quality prior to client deployment
Minimum Requirements and Experience:

5 – 10 years Business Analyst / Solution Architect experience
A relevant degree, i.e. B.Tech / B.Comm in Information Management
Enterprise systems integration experience
Technical background in systems and information management
Business Analyst certificate with FTI is a plus
Knowledge of the Asset Management Lifecycle and GIS is a plus
Experience working in the Public Sector and/or State-Owned Entities is a plus

Our system supports asset componentization to the level where maintenance-significant items can be individually tracked and managed. A complete range of tools is available to gather and manage key properties like asset life expectancy, performance, utilization, criticality and operational costs that are needed for updating the company’s infrastructure asset register as a hub for reliable performance, financial and risk reporting, preparing forecasts, and strategic, tactical and operational planning.

Project Characteristics:

complying with regulatory and legislative frameworks such as PFMA, MFMA, GRAP, ISO (55000, 16950, etc.), CIDMS, SIPDM, SCOA, GIAMA, as well as client organisation policies and procedures, etc.
