Senior BI Developer

Location: Woodstock, Cape Town
Salary: R700kpa

Purpose of the Role:
The role understands application Data structures and develops long term sustainable data models. The candidate is responsible from Warehouse design to ETL development to MIS reports development and delivery.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems.
8-10 years’ experience in a technical/analytical role.
Experience with Warehouse modeling, analytics and ETL tools
Microsoft BI experience is added advantage.
Strong experience with Oracle / Sybase.
Strong Data Analysis Experience.
Strong Dimension Modeling experience.
Experience with testing tables and reports.
Expertise on Microsoft BI platform – SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, Power Pivot.
Expertise on Microsoft Share Point Portal.
Experience on Business Objects and Crystal reports.
Expertise in writing PL/SQL scripts, Procedure, triggers, cursors, packages.
OBIEE will be added advantage.
Expertise on time series, regression, and predictive analysis.
Experience with testing tables and reports.
Ability to establish and sustain strong business relationships and effectively prioritize business needs.

Duties:
Gather requirements and define use cases.
Translate business requirements into technical specifications (data models, event models, reporting output).
Writing business cases, business requirements, functional specifications and user acceptance test cases and test for use by Systems.
Assisting in the production of procedure documents and training material.

Organizing and participating in User Acceptance testing and logging results
Performing quality control and complying with performance standards/best practices
