PBT Group has an opportunity for a Senior BI / ETL Developer for an initial 6-month contract.

Duties:
- Alignment to Enterprise Conceptual Data Model
- Analytics Data Objects Data Model
- Data Structure Creation
- Source Data Model mapping to Data Object Model – including transformation rules in consultation with Functional Analyst
- Generation of ETL Specs
- Build of ETL to populate Data Objects
- Validation of Data in Data Objects
- Identify, source and mine data from primary and secondary sources
- Model data into meaningful information in alignment to Enterprise Data Model where possible
- Clean and prune data to increase information usefulness
- Analyse and interpret data
- Create governed ETL jobs to move data
- Identify opportunities for process improvement in ETL jobs
- Assist with provisioning data for reporting and visualisation
- Design, create and maintain database structures for analysis
- Perform data profiling and data quality assessments
- Assist with the business glossary and ETL documentation

Skills Required:
- Must have Informatica BDM experience
- Must have at least 3 years’ experience with ETL Tools such as BODS data services, DataStage, Oracle ODS,
- Must understand Referential Integrity and have worked on Data Warehouses projects
- Must have experience working on databases such as Oracle, Teradata, DB2
- Functional modelling – using organisation context to provide meaning
- Understand visualisations to explain complex technical ideas and methods
- Navigation of different databases and querying languages
- Data Modelling techniques and methods – Relational, Star, No-SQL
- Understanding of data warehousing, ETL frameworks and database design

Qualification and Training:
- BSc (Computer Science) or BCom (Information Systems / Informatics) preferable.
- DAMA membership advantageous.
