A highly skilled BMS Technician is sought to join an established International Engineering Consultancy to work within their Building Services Division and work in their Johannesburg office. You will join their division who are enjoying a great track-record for delivering complex commissions in Africa, Europe & the Middle East for clients to include banks, office blocks, hotels, data centres and sports arenas. The expertise in their Building Services division includes specialist expertise in Building Services Design, Building Services Asset Management, Building Sustainability, Critical Facilities, Fire Safety Engineering, BMS and Vertical Transportation.

Qualification:
NDip/N3 – N6: Electronic/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering

Skills & Experience:
Design building management systems for large and/or complex buildings consisting of mechanical, electrical and plumbing installation systems
Oversee the creation of system graphics
Design large complex building automation network architecture to support operator work stations, field panels and devices connected through LON, Ethernet, or BACNET
Be knowledgeable on the latest BMS specifications and CIBSE Commissioning Codes
Manage cost controls of contractors during the construction stage of projects (payment valuations, final accounts)
Design of security systems (access controls), smoke detection, public address and EVAC systems experience
Must have a track record of successful projects with working BMS that controls at least HVAC, Ventilation and Lighting Systems
4 – 6 years’ experience

Job Description:
The successful BMS Technician will work within a multi-disciplinary engineering design team. You will be responsible for the design and management of BMS and control systems for commercial, high spec residential, data centres & healthcare projects from feasibility through design, all the way to the construction process.
