My client is in the Engineering Manufacturing Industry and is looking for Senior Bookkeeper/Accountant this is a hands on role that report to the CFO and work very close with the MD

Must have syspro experience and can process Financial Transactions for Month end up to Management Accounts. Summarise current Financial status by collecting information, preparing Balance Sheet, profit and loss statements and other reports

Duties & Responsibilities
Involved in all company projects.

Leading role within the finance department.

KEY TASKS

Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analysing account information.
Documents financial transactions by entering account information.
Recommends financial actions by analysing accounting options.
Summarises current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents.
Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures in relation to the ISO 9001 quality system.
Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analysing account information.
Prepares payments by verifying documentation.
Prepares management account financial reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising account information and trends.
Maintains subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and loading transactions.
Balances subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries.
Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary account summaries.
Balances general ledger by preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries.
Maintains historical records by filing documents.
Month end accounts and statements.
Manage PAYE
Manage Import Payments
Cash box/ Petty cash
Debtors
Creditors
Forex
Desired Experience & Qualification
Information Systems:

Use of standard office equipment
Use of Microsoft Office packages for: e-mail correspondence, electronic calendar; producing documents; compiling statistics, spreadsheets (financial and other), databases; presentations,
Syspro – to the function of writing reports
Quality:

Following strict procedures and processes dictated by ISO processes and procedures

Dealing with general enquiries, deciding when to refer up.

COMMUNICATION AND WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

Internal: Project/Site Managers. All staff as required, across the organisation, at all levels. Senior Management

External: Customers and Suppliers

Tact and diplomacy are required at all times when dealing with confidential matters and staff issues/ concerns.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Bookkeeping / Accounting qualification
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the financial sector;
High level of computer literacy to include MS PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook and Syspro
Ability to work under pressure and to tight schedules;
Strong organisational and administration skills.
Confident and assertive; Professional attitude and demeanour; Adaptable/Flexible approach to work.
