Leading IT Group based in Johannesburg are seeking a Senior Business Analyst to contribute towards business growth by initiating, guiding and coordinating business transformation in response to external and internal organisational influencers, as well as changing customer needs.

Key areas of focus:

Contribute towards business growth by leading transformation towards service and solution differentiation:
Ensure an in-depth understanding of the Group strategy, growth plan, value drivers (revenue and profit trends), and risks
Conduct ongoing analysis of customer needs and requirements, and define the operational requirements to enable delivery against those
Identify service, solution and product innovations and differentiation opportunities, and define the subsequent transformation and enablement requirements (business model, practices, processes, systems, financial and organisational infrastructure requirements)
Coordinate the planning, analysis and business case definition of transformation and enablement projects, and provide the required input toward management decision making around priorities etc.
Drive delivery against the priorities and work with delivery teams to design, develop, implement and transition new innovations and business enablement solutions, practices and processes
Establish best practice and benchmarking principles and measurement criteria
Create the Business, Data, and Application Architecture Strategy; and develop the relevant Architecture Standards and Methodologies, and drive consistent application thereof across the organisation (e.g... process modelling standards and practices).
Create the required operational capacity (models, practices, processes and systems):
Research, evaluate, validate (proofs-of-concept or best-practices-sharing) and propose recommended solutions (tactical / strategic)
Develop / maintain the Business, Financial and Target Operating Models
Develop a sourcing model and strategy, and assist in evaluating and selecting development resources, vendor products, and consulting resources as needed to augment existing resources and products
Develop As-Is and To-Be process, data, and application architectures, and define the transition plan for moving from the As-Is to the To-Be environment
Develop best practice business practices that are scalable and repeatable
Provide support with re-engineering processes and systems to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, and streamline work processes
Ensure consistency in logical process modelling methodology
Provide technical leadership / guidance to internal organisational stakeholders around the Architecture Strategy; and ensure that the interrelationships and impact of systems and applications are streamlined across the various divisions.
Contribute towards business growth through coordinating mergers/ acquisitions/ disposals:
Identify / consolidate merger and / or acquisition opportunities
Conduct the relevant business valuation and due diligence, and contribute towards defining the benefits to be realised through the merger and / or acquisition
Interact with business owners and peers to determine the feasibility of a merger and / or acquisition
Perform problem analysis, identifying root causes, outlining resolution options and ways to successfully integrate the service, solution and product offerings across the organisations
Take ownership for the alignment of business processes, governance and systems across the organisations
Performance analysis and reporting:
Define business metrics and measures that will pro-actively flag business risks and opportunities, and which will provide sustainable business outcomes through standard processes
Liaise with stakeholders across the Group, and specifically the Business Information Manager to monitor and track progress against the strategic objectives and business performance indicators
Provide knowledge transfer and ensure effective knowledge management

Education and experience required
B Com in Business Analytics / Industrial Engineering or equivalent
Project Management qualification
5 - 7 years experience in business analytics
Proven experience in a leading role on business transformation projects
3 - 5 years Management experience
5 years experience in process mapping
