The Senior Manager: Business Development’s key focus will be to develop a sustainable long term business development strategy for the current business, including gaming and betting, as well as introducing new products and services to increase the profitability of existing businesses and customers whilst maintaining good relationships with business partners and clients. In addition this position will be responsible to identify new opportunities in existing markets to increase Company market share. This will include researching markets and developing strategies to increase market share
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THIS POSITION
1. Business Development and Strategy
• engage the industry and ensure that Company increases its market share, customer base and income through development of new business opportunities
2. Market definition, Research and Knowledge management
• Ensure that continuous market research in areas such as market needs and trends, client satisfaction, sales performance, competition analysis and technology developments (secondary research) is conducted and analyzed
3. Manage Client / Business Partners Relations
• Promote, maintain and manage customer / business partners relationships with potential / new customers / business partners
4. People Resourcing and Staff Development
• Ensure appropriate human capacity and full utilization for projects under management.
5. Budgets and Reporting
• Prepare an annual budget for the function
5. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
FORMAL EDUCATION
Tertiary qualifications Business Science / Business Management (e.g. BBus Sci, MBA, or equivalent)
EXPERIENCE
Minimum 8 years’ experience in a professional / corporate environment
Proven track record in a similar position
Must be in a similar position in the Retail Sector
Gambling and/or Services Industries
Sound knowledge of Gambling and/or Services Industries and the ability to keep up with current developments and trends
Legislation and Regulatory Framework
Sound knowledge of the industry Legislative and Regulatory Framework, the ability to interpret and keep up with current developments and trends
