We are currently looking for a Senior Buyer to join our dynamic team.
The suitable candidate must meet the following criteria:
Requirements
Degree/Diploma in supply chain management and/or any related field
+8 years working experience in supply chain management +3 years in a management role
Planning and organisational skills
Pastel knowledge
The ability to motivate and lead a team
spoken and written communication skills
Problem-solving and be able to work in a pressurised environment
Good geographical knowledge of the Kwazulu Natal Region
Drivers licence
Must be available immediately
Responsibilities
Manage contractor and subcontractor activities, reviewing proposals, developing performance specifications, and serving as a liaison with the organization
Prepare purchase orders and send out copies to suppliers and department originating requests
Determine inventory quantities are sufficient for needs
Respond to customer and supplier inquiries
Review requisition orders in order to verify accuracy
Track the status of requisitions
Locate suppliers using different sources
Reconciliation of supplier bids and purchase orders
Negotiating of prices
Handling tender documents
Sourcing of suppliers
Manage vendor relationships (e.g., third party logistics)
Identify potential projects to deliver changes and improvements to the supply chain unit
