Our client in the Apparel & Footwear industry is looking for an experienced Senior CAD Designer to join their team.

Accountable for specified accounts including working on product development and design with an indent capability of between 150 and 200. A CAD Operator will also research trends, with creative direction from the designer and Merchandiser. Strong in graphics and originated artwork. Men’s clothing and design experience essential. Competent in Freehand, Illustrator and In-Design.

CADS: Creating CADS’s/storyboards/graphics for relevant accounts Creating CADS of future merchandise in a timely manner

Customer relations/Design
• Range building according to account specific
• Tagging all samples with sample numbers
• Photographing entire range, making it available on the share drive, labelled with corresponding numbers.
• Consistent and accurate use of the sample tracking system.
• Process briefs timeously and accurately.
• Compiling comprehensive tech packs for suppliers (CAD’s/ TD’s/Colours/ Specs/Artwork)
• Emailing of tech packs in correct sequence, with all necessary details needed to manufacture that garment
• Liaising with designer constantly per their/ buyers design requirements.

New Developments
• Consistent and on-going research for newness in Product; Artwork and Trends direction. (Internet; Magazine; competitive shopping)
• Liaising with designer constantly on activities at retail and newness in trend/ product.
• Assist Designer and Merchandiser in Designing/ development of signature ranges.
• Scanning and photographing garments from overseas trips and then cataloging them for future use

Indent System:
• Loading of style masters/creating indents timeously and accurately.

Facilitating the QA process:
Measuring where necessary
Participation with QA in fittings and technical discussions – understanding of patterns; fabrics; construction and fits.

PPS Process:
Assisting in style specific submissions from suppliers (colour; trims; embroideries; prints; placements etc) as part of a Production Team (QA; Design; Co-ordination) as per buyer requirements
