We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer for a Company in Cape Town
The Senior Network Engineer will ensure that the performance and availability of the Company’s network infrastructure is maintained to the highest standard with maximum levels of productivity and efficiency. The position is responsible for the implementation and support of the Company’s core LAN & WAN infrastructure and requires a high degree of expertise and certification levels across a broad array of technologies, including LAN’s, WAN’s, Security, Network Management and Traffic Engineering. 

Requirements:

• Minimum Cisco CCIE certification
• Expert knowledge of Cisco routers and switches – including CRS, ASR9000 and ME3800
• Expert knowledge of OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, MPLS (6PE, 6VPE, VPNv4), RSVP, VTP, STP, MSTP, LACP, LDP, MGSCP, Cisco IOS, IOS XR, IOS XE
• Expert knowledge of Metro Ethernet Services
• Expert knowledge of network design and implementation
• Good knowledge of network security principles 

Duties:

• Troubleshoot high level problems
• Provide high level support for all network and system related problems
• Analyse problems, research solutions, implement, test and manage (re)solutions and communicate technical solutions and implementation processes 
• Install network components and solutions
• Identify and interpret business requirements in relation to the data presented and current network configuration
• Architecture design to meet business requirements
• Plan, install, configure and test network/ system hardware, peripherals, operating and application software and system upgrades
• Document network and system installation, configuration procedures and current configuration
• Monitor and analyse network performance 
• Optimize strategic and operational implementations
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance measurement, tools and systems
