Our client, an elite and upmarket Hotel and Wine Estate situated between Stellenbosch and Paarl, is seeking a well experienced Assistant Head Chef.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Mentoring, development and management of staff responsible for preparing new, original dishes daily according to the availability of fresh produce
• Stock control, pricing and purchases
• Optimising kitchen processes
• Maintenance of safety standards

Minimum Requirements:

• A completed Matric with a relevant Cookery Qualification
• 5 years’ Kitchen Management experience
• Knowledge of taste and flavour combinations
• Visual presentation skills and an eye for detail
• An up-to-date knowledge of international culinary trends
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Computer literate (MS Office)
• Professional, well-groomed and presentable
• Own transport

Salary on offer: R 20 000 – R 25 000 p/m
