A healthcare company who is passionate about providing Clinical Care to HIV positive adults, children and adolescents is currently looking for a dynamic and driven Senior Clinician to assist the deputy executive director in clinical work, clinical training, programme oversight, research and strategy

Key performance areas
• Clinical assistance
• Back up deputy executive director on all clinical and other matters on all studies currently within their scope
• Provide clinical advice and clinical teaching
• Pro-actively identify strategic
• Publish clinical case reports
• Research development and implementation
• Write grant proposals, protocols and ethics applications in order to fund and carry out research studies
• Implement research studies in conjunction with the district-based teams
• Training and capacity building
• Liaise with the Training Department to address training needs and present training interventions
• Participate in monitoring the effectiveness of capacity building interventions and participate in ongoing mentorship programmes initiated by other stakeholders
• Technical strategy and oversight capacity building
• Assist with technical requests concerning guidelines, grants, research papers
• Supervise postgraduate degree students
• Stakeholder management (internal and external)
• Act as a point of contact for the relevant technical area for the DoH, partner organisations, donors and internally where appropriate
• Communicate with local, regional and international collaborators and stakeholders.

Education, Training and Experience
• MBBCH degree with specialisation or relevant post-graduate degree in health related studies
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Minimum of 8 years’ working experience in the above
• Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA)
• Certification in HIV Management
• Experience working in a research and a donor funded organization / NGO or project-based environment, and in the public sector
• Experience writing donor proposals and protocols
• Current or previous membership of clinical or guidelines committees in relevant fields
• Ordered and systematic in approach to tasks, attention to detail, pro-active, able to exercise discretion and independent decision-making
• Able to prioritise own work load and work towards deadlines
• Self-motivated, able to work independently and work as part of a multidisciplinary team
