Senior Consultant
Sandton, Johannesburg

To take ownership for consulting services and to provide assistance and support to PRINCIPAL CONSULTANT on a large client. The focus of this role is client satisfaction, with less responsibility in terms of revenue management and generation. To continue improving technical knowledge.

Meeting and meeting preparation
• Prepare trustee packs for large clients
• Analyse the fund's position and pertinent issues
• Attend Trustee meetings
• Prepare and circulate action lists from client meetings
• Monitor the completion of action items from the action list
• Facilitation of required meeting documentation
• Circulate completed minutes to client

Risk benefit management
• Review of risk benefit structure prior to market tests or renewals
• Prepare risk benefit market tests for clients
• Manage and monitor free cover limits on the funds
• Facilitate renewals

Training – self-study and structured
• Attend all consulting internal forums and requisite training sessions
• Keep up to date with all publications regarding industry developments
• Gain a greater understanding of retirement fund management
• Deepen technical expertise relating to retirement fund consulting

Internal and external client liaison and retention
• Ownership of overall client satisfaction
• Maintain functional relationship to ensure excellent client service
• Maintain functional inter-team relationships
• Manage verbal and written queries from all clients

Investments
• Obtain investment return summaries
• Liaise with the Asset Consulting team to arrange investment presentations
• Prepare and send investment communication for clients

General fund management
• Maintain Fund master file
• Draft fund communication/ reporting and submit
• Prepare and monitor section 14 applications
• Review financial statements and actuarial evaluations
• Collate and provide fund related information
• Complete the finance checklist and collate of any fund documentation
• Request and manage deadlines for any information/ documentation required for reporting

Qualification & experience
• B Com/ Law/ Bachelor’s degree with commerce/ legal subjects
• Certified Financial Planner
• B Com (Hons) (Preferred)
• Min 2 years Employee Benefits consulting experience
• FAIS representative accreditation
