Senior Cost Accountant wanted for our client, a multi-national outsourced processes and incident management company in Randburg. This position is open to all suitably qualified applicants.

The successful candidate will be responsible to prepare, analyse and report costing information on products, service lines and clients in order to improve profitability within the organisation, including the creation of unique costing models for each new project/undertaking. The cost accountant will work with management to make key decisions to enhance cost effectiveness internally, including determining the pricing of services.

Key Outputs

Cost effective allocation and use of company resources.
Prepare budget reports for each department and division
Provide recommendations on budget reports
Adhere to Company policies and departmental procedures, Company structure and reporting lines.
Prepare and submit daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
Plan, study, and collect data to determine costs of business activity of different divisions, business units and functions.
Analyse data collected and record results.
Determine fixed costs and variable costs of business.
Record cost information for use in controlling expenditures.
Analyse audits of costs and prepare reports.
Provide management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services.
Estimate the impact of changes in service offerings and introduction of new projects on pricing and profit margins.
Maintain Cost Accounting System.
Assist in month end close of the General Ledger.
Analyse and report on profit margins.
Compile cost effective solutions for internal clients.

Minimum requirements
Matric or equivalent
B. Com Degree in Accounting
CIMA (or studying towards)
Valid drivers’ license and own reliable transport
Clear credit and criminal record
MS Office and other relevant software literacy
Strong Excel
Minimum of 5 years costing experience, with minimum 2 years’ exposure in a non-manufacturing environment
Able to work in a pressurised environment
Client interaction experience
Ability and willingness to travel

Salary is R700 000 – R800 000 CTC per annum, but is negotiable for the right candidate.
