Senior Credit Controller (EE), East Rand - Ref: 759020-59

Our client is a recognized global leader; a South African distributor of Global Premium Brands (new and used equipment) in the Agriculture, Mineral Processing, Earth Moving and Materials Handling Industries offering multiple career advancement opportunities.

They currently have a vacancy for a Senior Credit Controller to coordinate the debts of existing creditors and deciding whether to allow credit to a debtor - ultimately managing all money borrowed or owed to the business.

The successful incumbent will be responsible for the day-to-day collection of finances and raise account queries with the relevant department, will be studying towards credit management and will have 5-8 years credit management experience.

Position details:

Knowledge of applying and understanding contract terms and conditions (billing requirement: split between finance and maintenance, excess hours).
Read and understand job cards to apply when resolving queries.
Liaise closely with the sales department so that credit issues are resolved smoothly.
Credit assessment for new application according to the credit risk policy and be able to pull information from the Experian report system.
Day-to-day processing of debtor payments.
Meet cash, forecast & debtor day targets.
Chase overdue invoices by telephone, email & letter within agreed timescales.
Regularly make customer site visits to ensure all relevant debts are managed as necessary.
Maintain working customer relationships.
Monitoring of debtors age analysis.
Send out monthly client statements/letters as may be agreed from time to time.
Manage customer profiles on SAP and associated risk management.
If any customers stop paying or pay late then advise the client of the consequences of non-payment, i.e. stop supplies, submitting details to credit bureau, interest charges, issue final notice and start possible legal action; you’ll have to report to your higher management about the strategies to make sure you can recover what you can.
Other duties as delegated from time to time by the Finance Exec or any other person designated in their absence.

Grade 12
Studying towards Credit Management (1-4)
5 - 8 years of credit management experience
