Senior Database Administrator (3 months contract)

Description:

The purpose of this job is to design, support and maintain all new and existing database infrastructure within the FIC.

Key Performance areas include:

Manage and support all database infrastructure for the different IT environments e.g. (Production, staging, testing);
Provide technical guidance, advice and knowledge sharing to the DBA team;
Provide third line technical support to DBA staff; IT staff and service desk;
Provide 24hrs support (on standby after office hours);
Research and recommend innovative enhancements to the database infrastructure environment;
Administration and configuration of Database monitoring tools;
Administration of Database related infrastructure e.g. database size, table fragmentations and database performance;
Administration, maintenance and monitoring of database backup environment;
Support and maintain database infrastructure in the disaster recovery environment;
Identify database security risks and develop mitigation plans;
Design new and maintain all relevant database policies, standards and procedures;
Manage the implementation of all new DB software in accordance to IT best practice and standards;
