The Asset and Transactional Acquisition Senior dealmaker will play a key role in generating and sustaining new revenue streams across the Business product suite by:
• Establishing origination channels for new transactional and asset business by:
1. Industry led acquisition
2. Own networks
3. Networks of executives in the company groups
4. Approaching un-banked clients
5. Ability to meet complex credit needs of clients – above and beyond expectation and market norms – to acquire clients. This includes specialised finance mezzanine and equity finance.
6. Solicited and unsolicited tenders
• Add value to deals and client relationship through credit skills – including the ability to structure leveraged finance transactions

Profile of the ideal candidate
The ideal candidate is a determined, high energy self starter. The successful candidate must have strong sales and deal closing skills – especially in the medium corporate commercial banking space with an established track record of generating revenue through new business opportunities.

Responsibilities
• Responsible for a target of R10m in new incremental revenue from acquired clients (actual revenue)
• Responsible for identifying new revenue opportunities and client wish lists.
• Responsible to tendering (solicited and unsolicited) for new business in the medium corporate space.
• Responsible for client negotiations, including pricing.
• Responsible for obtaining credit approval for term loans, overdrafts, property and leveraged deals through company business credit.

• Understanding of the commercial banking market and our product offerings – including transactional banking products.

Requirements
Academic
• Appropriate academic qualification: CA (SA) (or BCom Hons with articles) or related experience (proven track record might compensate if education requirements are not met)
Experience
• Proven track record of success as a deal maker / new business / acquisition background.
• Five years + commercial banking experience.
